Home education is full of brilliant moments: the museum trip that turns into a week-long obsession with Romans, the woodland walk that ends with everyone soaked and grinning. But it can also be lonely, for children and for the grown-ups alongside them.
Finding other home-ed families nearby often means scrolling through busy groups, piecing together who lives where, and hoping someone has children of a similar age who love the same things yours do.
Puddle is our answer: a friendly app for bringing home-ed families together through friendship and community.
What’s in the first version
- Family profiles built from a few quick questions: what you’re hoping to find, the age ranges of your children, what your family enjoys and your approach to home education. No exact ages, names or addresses.
- Families near you, within the travel time you choose, with a clear summary of what you have in common.
- Pins, a private shortlist of families you’d like to get to know.
- Messaging, starting with a simple hello and growing at your own pace.
- Meetups, in person or online, public or invite-only, with optional approval and limited places.
Starting in South Wales
We’re launching first in South Wales, from Cardiff and the Vale to Swansea, Newport and the valleys. Starting local means the families you see are families you can actually meet.
We’ll share what we learn here on the blog as we go. Little connections. Big adventures. We can’t wait to see where they lead.
